NMEA 2000 · dual-bus gateway

Two networks.
Your rules.

A dual-bus NMEA 2000 gateway that filters traffic, converts to NMEA 0183, and translates autopilot control across brands.

One device, four jobs

Sit it between two NMEA 2000 segments.

Everything passes through by default — then you decide what changes. Configured entirely from a phone or laptop; no app to install.

Filter bridge

Pass all traffic between the two buses, or add per-direction rules to block, modify, or inject any PGN. Fix incompatibilities, silence a noisy sender, rewrite a value in flight, or add data a device expects.

NMEA 0183 converter

Stream the bus as NMEA 0183 over WiFi — TCP server plus UDP broadcast — for OpenCPN, Navionics and other apps. Pick the talker ID and exactly which sentences go out.

Autopilot gateway

Make a control head of one brand drive an autopilot of another. The bridge presents a virtual pilot in your MFD's language and translates the controls and status both ways.

Capture & diagnose

Record bus traffic from either port and upload it to the cloud for analysis — the fastest way to prove what is, and isn't, on the wire.

The headline feature

Any head. Any pilot.

Modern chartplotters often refuse to show autopilot control for a pilot of a different brand — or an older generation of the same brand. The N2K Bridge fixes that: it presents a virtual pilot in your control head's language, hides the real pilot's identity from the head, and translates the commands and status across.

Raymarine ⇄ Navico

Drive a Simrad/B&G (Navico) pilot from a Raymarine Axiom, or a Raymarine pilot from a B&G Zeus — the bridge speaks both protocols.

Old ⇄ new, same brand

Get a modern MFD to control an older pilot it no longer supports — an old Navico AC, or an old Raymarine SmartPilot.

Safety first: your pilot's own control head stays wired as the hardware fallback, the bridge only ever relays a command your head sent, and a built-in Display-only mode proves the connection before any steering command is passed.

How it connects

One bus in, one bus out.

MFD / head N2K Bridge (CAN-A · CAN-B) Pilot · GPS · wind · backbone

All normal data flows both ways; only the messages you target are filtered, converted, or translated.
